2nd Chance K9 Training currently offers a variety of board and train programs. All board and train programs are based on the big picture. The goal is for your companion to have a solid obedience foundation, guidance, and balance. Your dog should fit your lifestyle; whether that is being included when you entertain guests at home or going out to a restaurant or public event. It may include helping your dog learn to relax while in the home or be confident when faced with unfamiliar things. Each program involves the dog being brought into the trainers’ home, integrating with the trainers’ family and pack, and getting real world practical training. Each dog is different and will have different goals while participating in a board and train. Each program is tailored to the individual dog which may vary the specific timeline but a vast majority fall within the provided program length. Because of the dedication to lifetime success, each program includes a go-home session at the conclusion of the program to go over the obedience your dog learned, the theory behind the training, and how to transition all of these new skills home. All clients will receive support materials while the dog is in the program to jump start this new journey and updates on our client dogs are frequently posted on social media while with us for their training. Puppy On-Leash: $1200

The puppy program is tailored for puppies approximately 6 months of age or younger (at the time of booking).* The puppy will be introduced to leash pressure as a means to communicate while also learning basic obedience commands in a fun, enjoyable way. The goal is to start the puppy with a solid foundation to avoid negative behavior and rude manners. The foundation starts with standard commands and polite leash walking. The puppy learns an “off switch” and a calm mind as well as what behaviors are unacceptable. Proper socialization and crate/house training are reinforced while in the program. After training, you will have a clear means of communication with your puppy to address any undesirable behaviors that may arise and to help guide your puppy through life and experiences. This program is approximately 7 days long, give or take. A size appropriate prong collar, leash, resources, and lifetime support are included in the program. 

*Acceptance into the Puppy Board and Train is not entirely based on age but a variety of factor which may vary by breed. 2nd Chance K9 in its sole discretion shall determine a dog’s eligibility into the Puppy Board and Train program.

Puppy Off-Leash: $1550

The puppy off-leash program achieves the same results as our standard off-leash program but is tailored to puppies between 3 and 6 months old (at the time of booking). This program is ideal for owners looking for full hands-free, off-leash reliability while also creating a solid obedience foundation and avoiding bad habits/behaviors before they start. This program is also 2 weeks in length, give or take. A size appropriate prong collar, leash, mini educator remote collar, resources, and lifetime support are included in the program.

Standard On-Leash: $1400 

The on-leash program focuses on a reliable obedience foundation and proper leash walking manners.* The dog will work through struggles stemming from an unhealthy state of mind whether that is insecurity, anxiety, hyperactivity, reactivity, impulse control, etc. These underlying issues often manifest in unwanted behavior such as jumping, pulling, nipping, counter surfing or even reactivity to other dogs or strangers. This program focuses on channeling energy into positive outlets and learning appropriate times for calmness creating a healthy balance. It helps build confidence and teaches the dog to control impulses and think through actions. Your dog will learn obedience commands as well as a solid heel. We proof these skills through various distractions including out in public so your dog understands the expectations of them in all settings.  You will be given a way to clearly communicate with your dog so you can build on the training in whatever ways you want. This program is approximately 7 days, give or take. A size appropriate prong collar, leash, resources, and lifetime support are included in the program.

*Acceptance into the On-Leash Board and Train may be dependent on the severity of the underlying mental health. This program may not be appropriate for dogs with more severe struggles and behavioral concerns. 2nd Chance K9 in its sole discretion shall determine a dog’s eligibility into the On-Leash Board and Train program. 

Standard Off-Leash: $1750

The off-leash board and train is the most popular and effective training program. It includes all the benefits of the on-leash program plus off leash recall and complete hands free guidance. This program is ideal for individuals who want a stronger relationship with their dog that allows for both on and off leash obedience. Off leash training better addresses more serious behavioral issues and offers less confrontational corrections. Dogs that run off or push boundaries with less supervision benefit more from the off-leash program. This board and train includes proper socialization, more in depth development of balance and life skills, real world application, and distraction proofing. This program is approximately 2 weeks, give or take. A size appropriate prong collar, leash, mini educator remote collar, resources, and lifetime support are included in the program.
